Methanol is a pure chemical (CH3OH) appears as a colorless liquid that can be transported and stored easily. Methanol is produced mainly from natural gas but can be produced also from renewable sources such as biomass, waste and power-plant emissions.
In addition to its traditional uses as a basis solvent or chemical block for pharmaceutical and other industries, Methanol has significant energetic characteristics and therefore can be used a clean, safer, competitive & 'ready to use' alternative fuel.
During the last decade, Dor Group has put an intensive R&D effort to expand the use of methanol as a clean alternative fuel and succeeded to develop & launch an Internal Combustion Engine running on 100% methanol. The M100 engine technology leads up to 90% reduction in air pollutants as well as a reduction of up to 15% in CO2 emissions, compared to diesel.
Based on its M-100 engine technology, Dor has launched the first in the world medium-duty-truck that runs on 100% methanol and offer real alternative to diesel trucks.
Based on M100 engines technology, Dor is currently marketing M100 local-power Gensets that generate clean electricity using 100% methanol. Using methanol instead of diesel reduces local air pollution form the gensets and enable to place them in sensitive areas close to the population, such as: construction sites, residential neighborhoods etc.
